Queens Park House

A dilapidated Federation house on a corner site in Sydney’s Queens Park, was restored and repaired with the introduction of a generous extension to bring light into the building and link directly to the north-facing pool and garden. A dramatic new roof was formed by a series of pitches with each gable relating to the zones of kitchen, dining and living on the ground floor and parent’s retreat, hallway and kid’s bedrooms on the first floor. Externally the swimming pool and garage were reduced in scale, without compromising their utility, and space was released for a charming, contained courtyard.
