Gadigal Land
An existing semi-detached building is home to three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a contemporary relevance. With the addition contained to the ground level, the form is extruded to the rear – instead of extending upward – to become immersed within the landscaping.
The brief
A tight site called for a clever solution to house 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, laundry and new kitchen, living spaces.
The solution(s)
An exercise in retrain and planning down to the mm. The existing front porch was infilled to provide extra space for an ensuite. By using height to create a sense of space, the home steps down to the rear courtyard level.

The clients are content in a home which meets all of their needs.
