Pitched Triptych House
Alterations and additions to a double fronted federation home on a prominent corner site in Queens Park.
The brief
Alterations and additions to existing dilapidated federation home. The brief called for a re-think of the large existing swimming pool and three car garage which overtook the site. The existing home was dilapidated with ceilings falling in and it required a detailed restoration. The new home called for a new rear extension with three bedrooms, a home study and new kitchen, living and dining spaces.
The solution(s)
The hold and new were separated to respect the heritage features of the home. The existing swimming pool and garage was reduced and a new double storey addition was added on. Three roof forms pitch the home to the northern light and tree lined aspect.
The feeling
A private and light filled family home which is a happy place to raise small kid
